On board Duties and Organisation of PupilsDuring educational cruises the ship is run as a school. The pupils are arranged in houses and are called to lectures (entertaining PowerPoint talks about where they are to visit), classroom sessions – informal meetings for briefings and to complete Port Naut booklets issued by Voyages of Discovery, or to write a scrapbook/diary of their holiday. While one half of the school is in lectures, the other half is in classroom sessions. During the week there is also a pool session for each house. During each of these events a party leader needs to be with the pupils. Each evening there is a duty rota for party leaders - each session lasting for 30 minutes, during which they patrol in a designated part of the ship. Party leaders are requested to ensure that their pupils are in their cabins at bed time and stay quietly in their cabins. |
